Emblica Officinalis

Amla

Commonly known as Indian gooseberry, in Sanskrit, it is known as Amalaka. It is one of the most important medicinal plants in Ayurvedic medicine as well as in other traditional health systems.

Amla is considered as a potent rasayana. Rasayana is a traditional Ayurvedic therapy to restore the vitality of your body to its fullest capacity and to keep the body young and fit at any age of your life. The fruits of amla have been reported to contain constituents with variable biological activities. Regular intake of amla fruit has been suggested not only in disease conditions but also for general health maintenance.

The fruits are reported to contain thermostable vitamin C, minerals, amino acids, tannins, rich flavonoids, and other important phytochemicals which are believed to possess diverse pharmacological and biological effects for human health.
