Curcuma Longa

Turmeric

It is a golden spice derived from the rhizome of the Curcuma longa plant, indigenous to the Indian subcontinent.

It is grown and harvested commercially in India, China, and many regions of tropical Southeast Asia. In the Indian Ayurveda system of herbal medicine, turmeric is used in water based, oil based or whole powder.

Curcumin & Polysaccharides are the two active components in turmeric, and it has proven powerful biological properties and antioxidant action.

Turmeric is recommended for a variety of health conditions and several modern studies have supported the traditional wisdom that turmeric to be useful for chronic inflammation, digestion and improve liver function. It has been used to promote cardiovascular health, and support the immune system as well as used topically.
